Our tracking middleware bridges the gap between data collection applications and customer IT systems. It has two pivotal roles: first, consolidating and recording all collected data while also retrieving essential business data from customer systems for use by the data collection apps; second, monitoring the operability of individual devices in the system to ensure overall system health.
Essential Track & Trace Middleware Features
Company business systems, such as ERP or WMS, are essential for tracking material consumption, availability, and product data, as well as planning production and delivery. These systems depend on users to input accurate and timely information.
Our middleware bridges the gap between these critical business systems and RTLS locators and RFID devices. At its core, the Turck Vilant RFID Server has two main functions: RFID Data Management and System Health and Maintenance. Customers can choose between a local installation or a cloud-based solution.

Our Two Server Applications

Our System Health and Maintenance solution is called the Vilant Device Manager. Both server applications feature a web-based user interface, offering flexible user management.

Vilant Visibility Manager
The Vilant Visibility Manager specializes in data consolidation and data mining, featuring an integration layer compatible with most common ERP and WMS systems. RFID use cases involve various touch points like printers, gates, forklifts, conveyor belts, and handheld devices.
Data captured by Vilant data collection software from these individual RFID touch points is centralized within the Vilant Visibility Manager. This system then mines the consolidated data to generate comprehensive reports and feed information back to customer systems.

Vilant Device Manager
The Vilant Device Manager provides complete management for the entire RFID system, offering both system health monitoring and maintenance capabilities.
All RFID devices, regardless of their touch point, connect directly to the Vilant Device Manager. From this centralized platform, every customer location and each individual device within it can be remotely monitored and accessed. This functionality allows for remote viewing and necessary software updates for printers, gates, forklifts, conveyor belts, or handhelds.
