Self-service Solutions
RFID maintains accurate inventory control with automated item tracking.
It ensures secure, authorized use of self-service warehouses, stores, and shared materials.
RFID for Automated Checkout and Smart Container Solutions
RFID controls self-service stores, stock rooms, and shared material pools with precise, automated oversight.
Each item receives a unique digital identity through its RFID tag, enabling the system to manage product data, user permissions, user roles, and store-specific assortments with reliable accuracy.
Our application captures tagged items seen in the designated scan area. The system tracks which materials are taken or returned and by which authorized user. As users access the self-service area, item handovers are recorded automatically, ensuring inventory visibility.
The Turck Vilant Store Client
Running on a local PC in the scan room, the Turck Vilant Store Client uses algorithms designed specifically for RFID-based self-service operations. It validates user access, reads all tagged items detected in the scan area, and ensures that every take or return action is registered correctly.
The data collected by the Store Client is forwarded to the Turck Vilant Server for processing or, if preferred, directly integrated into the customer’s business systems such as Warehouse Management (WMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). This guarantees seamless updates to inventory, usage records, and material availability across the entire operation.

Entrance Control
The system manages user access with key cards linked to individual roles and permissions.
It ensures that only authorized users can enter a specific store and automatically displays the correct application view for their role — whether they are stockers replenishing inventory or shoppers retrieving materials.
The Shopping Area
The shopping area is stocked with a tailored assortment that fits the site’s needs—different materials for a shipyard than for a hospital construction site, for example.
Customers freely choose from all available items, each of which carries an RFID tag, so the selection process is simple and self‑guided.
Secure RFID Checkout
Only one user at a time may enter the checkout area to prevent materials from being mixed between transactions.
The system manages access, ensuring that only the items handled by the authorized user currently inside the area are captured and processed.
RFID Application
The RFID Application manages users, permissions, and item data in real time. Using a handheld reader, staff can check inventory directly in the shopping area, verify stock levels, and perform quick counts.
The system updates quantities automatically and can trigger replenishment tasks to keep the store consistently stocked.
