Material Sourcing Policy – Turck Vilant Systems

Turck Vilant Systems (FI-17405469), a privately owned company with its registered head office in Espoo, Finland, delivers track-and-trace solutions mainly based on UHF RFID and RTLS technologies. The company does not manufacture any products, but focuses its own efforts in high-quality software development, consultancy, design, support and implementation services. Turck Vilant Systems sources all needed hardware equipment and tags from trusted partners.

At Turck Vilant Systems, we are committed to driving economically, ethically and environmentally sustainable and responsible business. We want to create a positive impact throughout our supply chain and towards our customers. We understand the interconnectedness of global supply chains and their far-reaching implications. Thus, we endeavour to source and design our products in a manner that respects people, the planet, and communities and follows the laws of the European Union, where our headquarters is located.

We understand that building a sustainable future requires collaboration and collective action. That’s why we actively engage with our suppliers, industry partners, stakeholders, and communities to foster meaningful relationships and to work together to address shared challenges and opportunities.

This webpage presents our current material sourcing policy, which we continue to develop. We invite you to explore this content and learn more about our ongoing efforts to create a better world through responsible sourcing.

Responsible sourcing

1 Minerals Sourcing

As a company, we are committed to responsible mineral sourcing. In our supply chain, we aim to identify conflict minerals, specifically cobalt, and other minerals, such as tantalum, tin, tungsten, and gold (3TG). We strive to ensure that these minerals are sourced ethically and do not contribute to armed conflicts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo or adjoining countries.

Furthermore, our company is committed to selecting suppliers responsibly, ethically, and sustainably, ensuring the well-being of communities, minimizing environmental impact, and complying with human rights standards. We identify high-risk areas in our supply chain and focus our efforts accordingly. We never source anything directly from Conflict Mines.

We communicate our responsible sourcing expectations to all suppliers and collaborate with them to establish responsible and accountable practices.

By implementing our new Responsible Minerals Sourcing Policy, Turck Vilant Systems aims to set a positive example in the RFID industry and foster ethical and sustainable practices across its supply chain.

2 Steel & Iron Sourcing

We are also currently updating our policy regarding the steel and iron sourcing process. We want to ensure that such materials are sourced in a sound manner and that we are fully compliant with the embargo across the product range we offer. All relevant suppliers have been sent an enquiry on the subject, and as soon as we receive answers, our policy will be updated.
